The Peoria Pottery Company in Peoria Illnois was first rganized as the American Pottery Company in 1859 but closed after a few years due to the civil war. Then in 1873 the pottery company was reopened and was renamed The Peoria Pottery Company which stayed open until 1904.

The jar has 12 panels and has been finished with a dark brown glaze. At one time the jar may have had a wire bale handle to it as it has tow holes on either side just large enough for a wire to fit.

This piece is well over 100 years old and is in great condition with only a few minor glaze nicks, 4 small chips in the lip, glaze imperfections, otherwise great condition.

No cracks.
